The Detroit Lions left the final preseason game of 2018 with 87 players on their roster. By the time the clock strikes 4 p.m. ET on Saturday Youth Graham Glasgow Jersey , they will have to be down to 53. That makes the next 24+ hours hell for both the players and the coaches. Young men will wait beside their phones waiting for their career’s fate to be decided. Coaches must make tough decisions that could end up costing them their own jobs if they choose unwisely. It’s a rough situation, and one that probably deserves a little more sympathy than we give it. Some of these players only know football and this weekend could be their last taste of it in their professional careers. We’ll be here all weekend giving you updates on NFL cuts, who’s in and who’s out for the Detroit Lions’ 53-man roster and 10-man practice squad. Remember, even when the Lions make their final cuts, that’s likely not the end of the roster maneuvering. Because after the cuts comes waiver wire searching and the bottom five players on any roster aren’t safe.Roster cuts so far:CB Sterling Moore OL Jamar McGloster,WR Brian BrownDE Jeremiah ValoagaDT Josh FatuTE Marcus LucasG John MontelusWR Teo ReddingDT Christian RingoDE Cam JohnsonCB Dexter McDougleLB Chad MeredithS Marcus Cromartie (IR)OT Corey Robinson (traded)WR Chris LacyCB Chris JonesS Rolan MilliganRB Dwayne WashingtonRB Zach Zenner C Wesley JohnsonQB Jake RudockWR Jace BillingsleyCB Mike FordCB DeShawn SheadLB Freddie BishopTE Sean McGrathWR Dontez FordLB Darnell SankeyLB Jonathan FreenyDE Alex BarrettDT Jeremiah LedbetterP Ryan SantosoWR Andy Jones (PUP)Current Lions roster (53):Quarterbacks (2)QB Matthew Stafford QB Matt Cassel QB Jake RudockRunning backs (5)RB Kerryon JohnsonRB Ameer AbdullahRB LeGarrette BlountRB Theo RiddickFB Nick BelloreRB Zach ZennerRB Dwayne WashingtonWide receivers (6)WR Marvin Jones Jr.WR Golden TateWR Kenny GolladayWR TJ JonesWR Teo ReddingWR Jace BillingsleyWR Brian BrownWR Brandon PowellWR Chris LacyWR Bradley MarquezWR Dontez FordWR Andy JonesTight ends (4)TE Michael RobertsTE Luke WillsonTE Levine ToiloloTE Hakeem VallesTE Marcus LucasTE Sean McGrath Offensive line (10)OT Taylor DeckerOT Rick WagnerOT Corey RobinsonOT Tyrell CrosbyOG T.J. According to Pro Football Focus, they aren’t even in the top five through the first quarter of the season. PFF ranked all 32 teams by wide receiver group, and the Lions came in at seventh overall, behind the Vikings, Rams and among others. PFF had some eye-opening stats about Golladay’s season thus far. “Second-year wideout Kenny Golladay has had an excellent start to the season Cheap Jarrad Davis Jersey , ranking among the league’s top-10 in both explosive plays (11) and contested catches (five),” according to the advanced stats site. During the Lions’ bye week, Marvin Jones Jr. is going to have a segment on CW’s All American talking about his path to the NFL and his life outside of football. Here’s a preview: Good catch from Lions Wire: Kerryon Johnson leads all NFL running backs in DVOA through four weeks.Da’Shawn Hand is continuing his dominance as the best rookie interior defensive lineman: Watch Matt Patricia break down Packers film with Lions radio play-by-play man Dan Miller in preparation for Detroit’s Week 5 matchup. Darius Slay: Still good: The Detroit Lions are selling standing-room only tickets for Lions-Packers for… yikes… $89 a piece.
